Rough Week

I thought moving to a new project would take me out of my work funk. I thought that it would improve my working life and things would get so much better. Especially with the fact that I would be around the corner from Tyson's Corner Mall. But I guess it is just not the way I thought it was going to be.

Is like the universe is trying to tell me I need to just leave my job. So here we go again, back on the job hunt. What a waste! The sad thing is that I actually like my new office, the location that I am in and even though it is not my dream job, I do enjoy it. But upper management is making my life a living hell and I have reached the end of my rope.

On a positive note, I have joined swap-bot and I am having so much fun. Doing my little crafts and sending them out to someone that will enjoy them is really great. I have failed at taking pictures of the things that I have sent out but starting this weekend I will be taking pictures and posting them here.

A Letter

Dear Insignificant Piece of Trash Barton,

I never thought I would ever hear anyone sound more stupid then Rush Limbaugh. I really did believe that Rush was the king of the stupids, but today you have proved me wrong.

As I sit here typing this, I feel like I am in an alternate universe and what came out of your mouth was just a poorly executed joke.

I sat in total shock in my conference room listening to your opening statements, apologizing to BP for the fact that the President of our country made sure that BP paid for their fuck up. Even Hayward looked like he could not believe that you in fact were being that stupid.

Barton, you said this morning that " I do not want to live in a country where any time a citizen or a corporation does something that is legitimately wrong is subject to some sort of political pressure". Well, then GET OUT! LEAVE! WE DO NOT WANT YOU HERE! What BP has done is not wrong, it is CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE and people go to jail for that!

I know that you have a vested interest in the big oil companies, because they are the same ones that have made you rich. But there comes a time when you have to take your head out of your ass and think about all the lives that this disaster has ruined, the environmental disaster that this spill has caused, and lets not forget the people that died in this explosion, the children that are now left with out a father, a wife with out a husband, and a mother with out a child.

You sir are a first class asshole! Please do get the fuck out of this country, why don't you call up Rush and run off into the sunset on a one way ticket to Costa Rica. This country and it's people will be better with out you BOTH.

By the way, that retraction that you were forced to make by the Republican party? You can stick it up your ass because I know, we all know, that you did not mean it. We know that it was, using your own words a "Shakedown".

I hope you enjoy yourself on the Fourth Circle of Hell because you bought yourself a ticket there today.

Shameful

I know the tabloids love to write about Brad and Angelina. I know people love to criticize them. I personally love them. The decisions that they make in their personal lives, is just that, personal. So whether I like it or not, it is none of my business.

But I think it is shameful that the tabloids are now starting in on their 3 year old daughter Shiloh. They must be running out of things to say about the parents, that they are sinking so low as to write garbage about a 3 year old kid.

Lay off the kid. She is a beautiful little girl and right now she is in her tomboy phase. If she ends up being a tomboy forever, that suits us fine. It seems to me that she is trying to be like the people she looks up to, her dad and older brothers. I was the same way when I was a kid. I wanted to be one of the boys. I dressed like one, had my hair short like one and wanted to only play sports and GI Joe. I was not "gender confused". I knew I was a girl then, just like I know I am a girl now.

It is amazing that the people that are criticizing the way Shiloh is dressing, are concerned that she will not "fit in" or that what is done to her is not "socially acceptable". It seems as if people don't find it acceptable to allow the child to be happy and comfortable. Screw what she wants,

she was born with a vagina, so she needs to wear dresses, play with barbies, like the color pink and must want to get her nails done.

2009 Nobel Peace Prize

I really do not like to speak about this kind of stuff on my blog. But, I feel strongly about this so I am going to make an exception. So please bear with me while I get this off my chest.

I will start by saying that I have nothing against President Obama, well actually, no, never mind this post is not about that. This is about Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

How is it possible that Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize? It makes no sense. I mean think about it.

The President took office on January 20, 2009. The Nobel nominations closed on February 1, 2009.

What did the President do in 10 days of office to warrant him being awarded the Nobel?

Per the Nobel website Obama was awarded the prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples"

Really? In 10 days? Was there no one else available for that category?

I am not saying that the President does not want to strengthen international diplomacy or is not striving for it. But to give him an award for something that has just been promised in speeches is ridiculous.

When Alfred Nobel left in his will, his wish to honor men and women of the world for their efforts and contributions towards peace. I am sure he did not mean for the award to go to those that just talk about it in their speeches with hopes in becoming President.

It is possible that Obama will eventually deserve this recognition but it is too soon. The man has been in office for less then 9 months.

But I digress. The Nobel Foundation long ago lost my respect. When over the years they have passed awards to people like Henry Kissinger, Yasser Arafat, and they omit to award people like Dorothy Day and Gandhi who in my humble opinion deserve that recognition a lot more then the 44th President of the United States.

Japan: Mrs Stylebook 2009 Spring/Early Summer

Why don't I live in Japan? or in California? or in Seattle? (would much prefer Seattle) Where I can buy Japanese publications!

I really love Mrs Stylebook and I wish I could buy it here in the DC area. But no, that is too much to ask for! For god sakes, I could not even find the August issue of Burda anywhere!





I tried to find the two issues above. I really want them. Really, really bad. But alas, I will just look at the pretty pictures online.

What a worthless sack of trash. His bodyguard (why the hell does he need a bodyguard?) is just as worthless, or better yet he is a complete moron. I found it funny how in one of the interviews the bodyguard kept on calling the Mandarin Orient in NYC “The Madeleine”. I felt my IQ dropping while reading the article. I had to stop reading it.

Why am I going off on Levi? Well, this morning I was reading an article about Sarah’s resignation and it linked to the moron, so me being the curious creature that I am, I clicked. Big mistake on my part, I should have left it alone because it set me off on an obsessive trip on trying to understand what is so great about this kid (is that OCD part of me that could not let go).

Not only is the kid trying to get a book deal, he is trying to become an actor and a model. He has already appeared on the cover of GQ magazine.

Article after article it just took me further down the spiral of absolute disgust of how socially retarded modern culture is.

He is not the only one that has me scratching my head. There are others. But he is the one that I decided to pick on today.

There is so much more going on in the world that needs more attention than this irresponsible child. Instead of concentrating on getting a real job or maybe going to school so that he can provide a real future for himself and his spawn. He is trying to cash in on a cow that in my opinion is dry. If you did not get the memo Levi, your 15 minutes are up. Leave it alone before you end up on a reality TV show with the rest of the wash up’s.

Sometimes I just want to scream...

I like to keep my blog light and happy but today is just one of those days that I need an outlet to vent.

I work in an office where I am the only female and lately they have been treating me as the freaking admin of the office. Mind you, I do not mind helping a fellow co-worker but I do not like when my kindness is taken for weakness and they try to take advantage of me.

They know that for the first two hours of the morning I am not to be bothered. This is the time that I spend answering calls, emails and taking care of any other clerical stuff of mine that I have to do.

So why this morning while I am on the phone with one of my tenants I have an asshole standing in front of my desk talking to me? He sees that I am on the phone but he has no care in the world and is just mouthing off about something or another. I try to ignore him and talk over his voice so my tenant can hear me. He still does not get it. Then I start to wonder, does the guy have rocks for a brain?

I finally cannot take it anymore so I put the person on hold and ask him what he wants? The incompetent asshole starts to rant about his phone not working, when I realize what he is blabbing about I cut him off and tell him to contact the telephone company.

See we do not have an admin, because of the economy the company let the admin go and decided that we are such a small office we can each take care of our own admin needs. So if that is the case, why is this man coming to me about this shit? Not only is he coming to me about this, he is being rude about it.

Because of his attitude and the way he came at me. I told him to piss off. I would have in a different occasion helped him out with his problem, because lets face it, he is a guy and most of them are clueless on how to go about fixing things like this. Actually, I should not say clueless, I should say LAZY.

He left my desk red as a tomato and I am sure he is in his office right now cursing me out. I do not care!

Moral of the story, do not bother me before I am done with my coffee or before I am done with my morning to do list unless the building is burning down or someone is about to die but even then I am no doctor so call 911 and do not bother me.

I have not Forgotten...

To post the picture's from Friday's fashion show. Is just that Mr. P and I have been sick as dogs and have not had the energy to edit photos, but I will have them up soon.

On a lighter note, while I sit here in bed waiting for someone at my Dr's office to take me off hold, I decided to go on the MAC website because Mr. P told me that the Hello Kitty Kouture stuff is up. Yes ladies, my b/f is awesome, he helps me keep up to date on the going ons in the make-up and fashion world.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand... I still want the compact. I normally would not want to spend $90 (that is before my discount) but because it is absolutely cute and you can reuse it I decided it is worth the splurge. The only thing that I have a problem with is that it looks like it does not have a mirror. I mean, for 90 bucks, can't they put in a mirror? Seriously! Swarovski crystals are not THAT expensive.

I must be off, the Dr's office decided to take me off hold. I will have picture's of the collection for you guys this evening.

I really tried. Honestly I did but I just could not help it

I did not want to talk about any of this stuff on my blog but this was emailed to me and I needed to put it some where. I just needed to do something. I tried. I actually just spent an hour looking at the article after reading it trying to decide if I did want to post it our not. I am not even going to say anything just that I am numb, not out of shock because I am not surprised but because I do not have enough feelings in me to describe how much this pisses me off.

So my dears, read and behold an example of what banks are doing with their bail out money. While our stocks continue to plummet, people are losing their jobs, homes, savings and our countries economical system continues to crumble.

Games Imitating Life

So I have an addiction to the Sims. Yes ladies and gents, I am a Simaddict. I mean why not? I get to run the lives of an imaginary person or persons. I can create the look a likes of people that I dislike and ruin their lives in the game or I can create people that I care for in my life and just have fun with them in the game. Another perk is I get to build houses. It is so much fun. But I have a problem with this game.

The family that I created just so happens that the daddy and the mommy have the same career. They are both at the top of their career but the mom has been at the top longer then the dad. Well, when they come home from work I noticed something, take a look at the screen shoot, can you tell?



Remember they both have the same exact job and they are both at the max of their careers. Give up?



The dad makes more money then the mom. Nevermind that she has been doing the job much longer then him. Do not get me wrong, I am not a crazy feminist. I will still play the game, I just thought it was funny how the game is imitating life.

April issue of Vogue Magazine

A couple of days ago I received my April issue of Vogue; I looked at the cover, flipped through it really fast and put it on my nightstand. You see I do not read my magazines right away. I pill them on my night stand and Sunday mornings with a cup of coffee I sit up in bed and read all of them cover to cover. That is my Sunday morning ritual.

On the cover of this month’s Vogue they have LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen. I did not care that he was on the cover because I did not know who he was, I just figured he was an athlete and of course I knew who Gisele was, I do think she is pretty but she does not really do anything for me. What did come to mind was “Man, I may be wrong but this is the first time Vogue has a black man on their cover. How cool is that?!?!” Then my next thought was that the picture was cute and funny. Well, today while I am having breakfast I log on to yahoo to read up on some news/gossip and I see this article: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-voguecover&prov=ap&type=lgns so instantly I am like “What now?” As I read the article I start to get upset. Leave it to the media to read too much into something and start to put things into people’s head. Right away they think that it has to do with race. People, WAKE THE FUCK UP!! Not everything is about white and black, not everything is about putting the black man down. Can we please MOVE ON?! Can you stop living in this bubble that everyone is out to get you because you are black and see that no one GIVES A SHIT! You are so self absorbed in your pathetic little life that you start screaming racism about every little thing. I am sick and tired of it.

I love how at the end of the article it says and I quote “If more people of color worked for Vogue in positions of editorial authority, perhaps someone in the room might have been able to read the image the way so many of us are reading it now, and had the power to do something about it.” No darling the majority of the people do not think as you do. You and the rest of the cry babies that want some attention and have the connections to get yourself published are the people that are reacting this way, and what the hell is a magazine analyst?? Is this one of the many made up professions that have popped up in recent years for people that failed at whatever they wanted to be in life?

When are we going to grow up? When are we going to be ok to see a black man and a white woman together or vise versa and not play the racial card? Please tell me what do you want me to do so that you can stop this insanity? I will do everything in my power to lobby for you to get what you want so that you can stop crying racism every time you see something that you do not like. Can we please move on? Can you please worry about the children that are being killed by asshole father’s because the kid broke his xbox? Can we worry about the men and women that are dying everyday overseas fighting a stupid war that we should not have even started? Can you please use your connections to make a positive difference in this world? There are a lot more important things going on everyday that we should be worrying about, then a stupid magazine cover and reading more into it then what was intended to begin with. Actually you should have been celebrating that finally a magazine that is ran by mostly white people is putting a black man on its cover when it had never in it’s years of being around done such a thing. You should be proud that this person has so much influence that it can break through and be a beautiful, black man on the cover of a predominantly white magazine.

So fuck off and go do something useful with your life and stop crying like a child. Your cries are getting old and we are getting tired.

Aretha and Natalie, I love you but shut the F*ck Up!!

The Grammys my favorite award show and only award show I bother to watch aired this past Sunday. This is the night that I see some of my favorite singers get awarded for the fantastic work they put forward. One of the top winners of Sunday nights Grammy extravaganza was Amy Winehouse. She took home 5 Grammy's that night and I could not be happier. The girl even with all her issues and horrible stage presence is one of the best new artists to emerge in between all these so called singers that mostly sound like nails on a blackboard (think of Rihanna and her ear bleed song Umbrella ). She has a wonderful unique singing voice, soulful, jazzy infused melodies and bad girl image fits her to the T. Her bad habit like many other artists is drugs, which she is finally seeking help for. Thank goodness!! Good Luck Amy!!

Now enter the great Natalie Cole, I LOVE this woman. Like her father before her this woman has the voice of an angle. But, why are you hating on Amy Winehouse? Please tell me that the reason you are hating on Amy Winehouse and do not think she deserves any of the Grammys she won is because you feel she has no talent. Though, I would disagree with you if that is the reason but alas you are entitled to it. But we all know that is not the reason. The reason you are hating on Amy is because **GASP** she is on drugs?? **GASP** Oh Natalie, Natalie, do you think we have forgotten your past? Do you think we have forgotten the junkie that you used to be? Did you forget that we know that you were not only on LSD but on heroin and crack? My dear crack head, that was not that long ago. You battled your addiction for FIVE years before you finally kicked it. You think we forgot? During your junkie years you won Grammy's. Did you suddenly get amnesia? So for you to open your mouth and start hating on Amy Winehouse not only is it hypocritical YOU my dear are the last one that should be talking. So if you feel Amy does not deserve those Grammy's maybe you did not deserve yours and should return them? PLEASE STOP THE HATING. I Love You.

Now it brings me to the next person I am going to rant about. Aretha Franklin. Woman, every time I hear you sing I get goose bumps down my arms. So many times I have sung and danced to your songs growing up. You have won countless Grammy's and have been honored with achievements awards. You have done some wonderful things for music. You are with out a doubt the Queen of Soul. So, what is your beef? I know you are mad at Beyonce but by being mad at Beyonce for calling Tina Turner the Queen you are essentially hating on my woman Tina and that just does not fly with me. Tina Turner is indeed a Queen; she is with out a doubt the Queen of Rock and Roll. See the difference? You are the Queen of Soul and she is the Queen of Rock and Roll, therefore the title Queen fits her perfectly. While you, Aretha have had countless Grammy's and many number one songs, Tine Turner is one of the biggest selling artists or all time. She even surpasses you. She has been able to rise above many obstacles from spousal abuse, to drug abuse to being homeless and penniless even though she was a popular and successful performer. To top it all off, Tina is only THREE, I repeat THREE years older then you and she looks at least 10 years younger then you. She can still dance better then a 20 year old, has a killer body and man oh man can she sing. So explain to me, why do you not think she should be called Queen? What is the reason for your disrespect? Your ego and greed is unbecoming for a Queen. She deserves that title just as much as you deserve it. Instead of complaining you should have been congratulating her. For all that she has done, for being able to rise above all her hardships and to become one of the greatest artists to walk this earth. Not stealing away her spot light and pouting like a child. Aretha, please darling show some R-E-S-P-E-C-T. I Love you.
