I have really slacked off on my weight loss goal. I keep saying excuse after excuse as to why I cannot go to the gym or even eat properly. I want to loss weight, but there is something in me that does not want to do anything about it.
The good news is I have not gained all the weight back that I lost. Since my last weigh in I have only gained two pounds. While that is a small victory, it is still nothing to celebrate since I should be a lot closer to my weight goal.
In a month I will be running a new project at work. I will not have available to me all the eateries that I have now. So the temptation will no longer be there to eat all the bad for you food. I will now have to bring my lunch to work everyday or starve.
I also need to start going back to Weight Watchers. I have thought many times about cancelling my membership but I know I need it. They are very helpful and it works! All I have to do is follow the plan!
I have made a list of what I need to do, what my weakness is when it comes to accomplishing these goals, and what needs to happen in order to not let my weaknesses keep me from doing what I need to do.
1) Working Out
Problem: I was working out in the mornings, but that is just not working out (hahaha...). I am NOT a morning person.
Solution: I have to stop kidding myself about this morning work out thing and just work out after work. I need to take my gym bag to work, a snack such as yogurt or fruit to have before or after working out to tie me over till dinner.
2) Lunch
Problem: I do not take my lunch to work. I always forget to pack it or I am just plain too lazy to put it together. I need to stop relying on Mr. P to fix my lunch.
Solution: When I go grocery shopping buy easy to make lunch stuff for the week, which I can just take to work and have it there. This way I do not have to worry about fixing lunch in the morning or trying to remember to grab the lunch bag. It is helpful that in my new office I will have a full size fridge and pantry space. Making this solution very feasible.
3) Cooking Dinner
Problem: While mostly we have been good about this. There are those days that we do slip up because it was a rough day or we are too tired, etc. There is nothing wrong with those days, the problem is we order out and that just messes us up.
Solution: Always keep easy and quick things to make in the fridge. When ever possible cook ahead of time for the week. Mr. P and I need to sit down before we go grocery shopping and plan our meals for the week. That way we are always ready.
4) Weekends
Problem: Mr. P and I have too much fun stuffing our faces while we are out. While it is ok to have an off day and go out to dinner, lunch or breakfast one day out of the weekend. We need to stop doing it on both days of the weekend and for every meal. Or if it cannot be helped because we are away from home make healthier choices, then running to our favorite Mexican restaurant and stuffing our faces with the most fattening stuff on the menu.
Solution: Plan for the weekend. A lot of the times Mr. P and I know what we are going to do any given weekend, so there is no reason why we cannot plan what we are going to eat. We need to plan better and stick to it.
4) Weight Watchers Meetings
Problem: I do not get my butt to them. Main reason is because I do not want to see the number on the scale when I know I have not been following the plan.
Solution: Follow step 1 - 4 and I wont have a problem with weigh in.
If you have read this far, I am sure you have realized that the theme in order to be successful on this weight loss thing is to PLAN AHEAD. Planning and sticking with the plan is the key to being successful. We will always have other temptations, but we need to remember why we are doing this. We are doing it to live healthier lives and fit into the mountain of tiny clothes in the closet. :-)

Looking forward…
On the 14th of February my blog became two years old. It has been a fun ride. But while I have always blogged about everything that I enjoy, there has never been a real structure to my blog. I always thought that the day I put too many rules on myself is the day that this starts to feel like “work” and not something I do for fun.
I decided not to post anything over the weekend. I wanted to spend a little bit of time reading my posts from the past two years and do some thinking about what to do about this little space. While a lot of things have stayed the same, there are some things that have fallen off the map. Not on purpose, it just happened. So I started to think that a little bit of structure here would be a good thing. It would keep me on task; things would not fall of the grid, it would make things a little bit more cohesive and not be all over the place.
So I am going to make some changes, which I will share with you as I execute them on my end. But in the mean time I want to hear from you guys. While I primarily ramble about the things I enjoy/like (of course that will not change), I do not want to bore you guys to death. I would like to get some feedback from you guys. What would you like to see here? What do you want me to blog more about? What would you like me to not blog about? Or are you fine with my ramblings?
Good or bad, bring it on. I would love to know what you think. Just remember to be respectful about it (not that I have to worry about that with you guys. But I still need to say it.).
I am also working on my second giveaway. I will have a post about it this week. So look out for it.
Ciao!! xoxo

Weight Watchers, Giveaways, and other Ramblings
Happy Monday!
We finally woke up this morning to sun shine after a weekend of rain and cloudy skies. We were supposed to head to Rennfest again this weekend and celebrate my friends wedding anniversary there. But the rain kept us indoors. So we ended up being couch potatoes on Saturday and on Sunday we spent our day cleaning.
On Saturday morning I went to Weight Watchers to weigh in and I lost one pound. I am only 2 pounds away from reaching my goal for the month of October and loosing 5% of my weight.
One of the many things I love about Fall and even Winter is the comfort foods. From Stews, to baked goods and everything else in between it is a foodies paradise. But with my obsession of becoming healthier and loosing weight, I have been looking to healthier options to satisfy the foodie in me. Which led me to purchasing Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook. From past experience using WW cookbooks, their recipes are great.
Speaking of recipes, at the WW meeting one of the group members shared a recipe with the rest of us. It is a 2 point per serving Pumpkin Mousse.
Pumpkin Mousse:
1 15oz Can Pumpkin
1 8oz Tub "Free" Cool Whip
1 1oz Sugar free/Fat free Butterscotch Pudding
1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp/ Ground Ginger
1/8 tsp. Ground Cloves
Mix dry ingredients first. Then whip all ingredients together. Divide into dessert cups and chill at least 1 hour.
Optional: Top with Honey Bunches of Oats or Fat Free Reddi Whip.
Makes 6 servings at 2 points each serving.
I have not tried this yet. We went to the grocery store last night and they did not have any pumpkin on hand. But I will hopefully be making this next weekend. That is if they have any pumpkin in stock.
I did not get to post last night, all I was able to do was send a quick message to the winner of my giveaway. The winner of my first giveaway was Meandering Mel. I will be shipping out the package tomorrow, so look out for it in a few days.
As if this post is not long enough, the last thing I want to say is.......
If you have not seen Where The Wild Things Are. YOU NEED TO GO SEE IT!! Mr.P and I went to the IMAX theater near our place and saw it on Friday. It is such a cute and good movie.

How was your weekend?

Dear Dissolved Girl,
I hope that on this day you have learned a valuable lesson. That you will never again wear four and a half inch heels to a job where you spend most of your time walking around two buildings with a combined total of over 500k square feet of space. It really does not matter how cute said heels are, how great they make your legs look or how well it goes with your outfit.
That is all. Xoxo
Signed,
Your Angry Feet. ARGHHHH!
PS: Remember to stay hydrated.

I am back, I think, Sort of
I had planned to blog last night. I have a few things to post but I got side tracked with the new order of beading supplies I got last night and instead of following my list of things to do I sat in front of the TV and started crafting.
How was every one's weekend?
I am currently on the search for a T-shirt. It is a Cobra Commander t-shirt I bought from Urban Outfitters a little over a year ago and it has mysteriously disappeared. I really loved said t-shirt and I especially would have loved to have it now to wear to the G.I Joe movie that will be out in August. So I set out to try and find another one online and I have not had much success. I have found similar t-shirts but it is not the same.
On other movie related chatter. I cannot wait till October rolls around so that I can enjoy Where the Wild Things Are. I have only seen bits and pieces of the trailers that have been floating around the Internet and I am already in love with the movie.
By the way, I have added one more concert to my list of concerts that I will be going to this summer. I will be going to see Incubus at Merriweather Post Pavilion in August. They are one of my favorite groups and after a few years of laying low they are going back on tour. I have already seen them in concert but when I went Mr. P could not go for a reason that escapes me now. But this time around he will be able to enjoy Incubus.
Are you guys on Twitter? I have been on it for a while but I never really got into it. Now I am like a crack head. I cannot for the life of me go an hour with out clicking the refresh button to see what people are doing. LOL. If you guys are on twitter and want to be my twitter buddy add me here or you can click on the little bird on the side bar. Add me and I will add you. I am nosey and like to see what everyone is doing. :-)
Oh, I also got my car back. WOOO HOOO!! I missed it so much. The problem with the car was not as bad as we thought but it still put a dent on the wallet. At least we did not have to buy a new car, which would have put even a bigger dent on the almost empty wallet.
Anyway, I will stop rambling now and get back to work. Hope everyone is having a great week.
Ciao! xoxo

Food, Jewelry and Nice Days
This weekend was a beautiful weekend and I got to enjoy some of it even if it was while I was running around doing errands or replacing a broken camera.
I also started a blog just for my jewelry. Please take a minute, visit it and tell me what you think. Click Here.
Last night I did some serious cooking. With my Econo Chic post about Asian food and then Pink's post on her steamed Shrimp and Tofu, I was really wanting some home made Asian goodness. I made Vegetable, Tofu and Shrimp Stir-fry, Homemade Crab meat wonton and Pink's steamed Shrimp and Tofu. To wash it all down we had some Yuengling beer and for dessert a Klondike bar.

Man, was the food good! I will have to do it again sometime.
So what did you guys do this weekend?
Ciao! xoxo

Is it a sign?
This morning I woke up early, watched an episode of 24, had breakfast and then got ready to start my day of errands. After I am done dressing and putting on my face. I look at myself in the mirror and I am happy. I am one size smaller, my skin is not freaking out and it is nice enough for me to wear my cute purple and star top that my friend's mom got for me when I was in Florida on vacation.
So I decide "I am going to do my first FOTD and outfit of the day. Not my once in a while snapshot. I like how I look." I dig in my purse, take out my precious camera, stand in front of the mirror, then I point and shot. Easy, right? So I thought. I look at the preview and it says "Error". That has never happened before. So I tried again and again I get the "Error" message. I start to panic. I run out of the room and find Mr. P to show him that there is something wrong with my bulky, old, four going on a hundred year old point and shot that I love so much. He thinks is just that the memory card has busted. So he tries one of his other cards, pops it in. When he turns it on, the forsaken "Error" message comes up.
My friends, I must say my camera has gone to a better place. A moment of silence to my trusty friend that over the years has taken great videos such as this and even great pictures. I will miss it.
So Mr. P sets out to find me a new camera and we find out that none of the new camera's take the Compact Flash cards any more. which translates to: I can no longer take one of his cards when I cannot find mine or if I want a higher capacity one. Oh well. I just know I want one similar to what I had. So he found my old camera's upgrade.

Satisfied with the camera we set out to Bestbuy to purchase it. Now that we have taken care of that I start to think about what happened this morning. For those that have been reading my blog for a while and read the 25 things about me, know very well that I do not like to be photographed (see # 22).
Then the day that I finally decide to take a photo my camera breaks down. Are the gods trying to tell me something?

Maybe my irrational thought of me looking like one of Diane's subjects is not really irrational? hmmm?
Well, at least I got a shiny new camera out of this. That I like very much. So now you all will get better photos coming from me. Not slightly blurred pictures because I cannot stay still long enough to take a simple picture.
That is all. Ciao! xoxo

P.S: If you have read this far, just wanted to let you all know that I was mostly joking. I do not think I am ugly but I do think I look like one of Diane's subjects in picture's.

Ramblings and Other things
I finally feel human. I was able to crawl out of the bat cave and breath semi fresh air. I am excited that I was able to head out this weekend because the weather was perfect here in good old DC. It was not cold and the sun was tucked inside the clouds. If only it would always be this way. Yes, I am a vampire. The sun and I do not mix, which my family and friends find funny since I used to spend a lot of my summers in the Caribbean.
Anyway, the first place I wanted to go to was Tyson's Corner Mall to see what kind of trouble I can get myself into. When we arrived Mr. P and I went into Barnes and Noble to buy some refreshments and while I was standing in line look at what I saw:

After my post about those disastrous boots, I could not help but take out my camera and take a picture. I was going to say something to the poor girl about her fashion mishap but when she turned around and I took a better look at what she was wearing I decided that the girl needed more help then just a couple of minutes of wisdom so I decided to leave that alone.
After we had our refreshments we started strolling around the mall and we entered Kenneth Cole. I started squealing like a little girl when I noticed that they were having a 50% sale on their shoes. As I was looking at the shoes, I noticed these pair:

Which reminded me of this post “I Spy with my Shoe Eye”. In the post I said that I would have settled for the Aldo shoes at $110 but the Kenneth Cole shoes were $50; so guess which I settled for? Well, I thought I had a winner but after asking for help and a twenty-minute wait for the lady to come back, I learned that they did not have my size. I then had the clerk look at other stores and they also did not have my size. I figured it was just not meant to be. I will settle back for the Aldo shoes.
We then went to Bakers where I found a cute wool hat on sale for $10 from $22. Then we went to Sephora where I went to raid the Make-Up Forever section but others beat me to it, it was completely bare. I settled for a new eyebrow comb that I was in desperate need for and more Rosebud Slave, that I believe no one can ever have enough of. I also bought an Art Deco nail polish in white at some random accessory store.
On our way back to the car we passed by one of my favorite furniture stores that had a living room set that I had been drooling over but I was suffering from sticker shock and never purchased. Well, the store fell victim to the economy because they are having a going out of business sale. So of course I rushed in to see if my living room set was still there and to see what mark down it had, well, it was gone! All that was left was the chair. I am so sad. Lets have a moment of silence to the living room furniture that could have been mine:

That was the end of our Saturday adventure.
Today we headed out again and this time we went to Best Buy to look for a new digital camera for me and we were having no luck today with customer service. So we ended not getting me any new gadgets but I did come out with Gossip Girl Season One on sale for $20 from $70.
We then went to Target because I wanted to see the McQueen collection up close and personal. It was so sad. Not worth the price. The clothes are so cheaply made; I saw strands of thread coming from the seams. The material also felt stiff. So darlings if you want McQueen gear please just save your penny’s and buy the real thing because the Target stuff is a wreak of a collection. Here is one of the outfits:

Moving on to other things. Now that I am better I will be heading back to work tomorrow. I am really not looking forward to it but a girl has to do what a girl has to do. I will also go back to posting just once a day. Last week you guys got up to three posts a day from me since I was in bed with nothing else better to do.
I have also decided that I will not post anything else about Fashion week. Seriously, I have other things that I want to blog to you guys about. You can always go to Style or NYMag and get your fashion week fill there.
Well I have rambled enough, hmm? I better get myself off this computer and be productive around the apartment.
Until next time, Ciao!! Xoxo

I have not Forgotten...
To post the picture's from Friday's fashion show. Is just that Mr. P and I have been sick as dogs and have not had the energy to edit photos, but I will have them up soon.
On a lighter note, while I sit here in bed waiting for someone at my Dr's office to take me off hold, I decided to go on the MAC website because Mr. P told me that the Hello Kitty Kouture stuff is up. Yes ladies, my b/f is awesome, he helps me keep up to date on the going ons in the make-up and fashion world.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand... I still want the compact. I normally would not want to spend $90 (that is before my discount) but because it is absolutely cute and you can reuse it I decided it is worth the splurge. The only thing that I have a problem with is that it looks like it does not have a mirror. I mean, for 90 bucks, can't they put in a mirror? Seriously! Swarovski crystals are not THAT expensive.
I must be off, the Dr's office decided to take me off hold. I will have picture's of the collection for you guys this evening.
Until next time, Ciao! xoxo

25 Things About Me.....
I fought off the world that is Facebook for a while but the powers that be had other plans for me and I got dragged into it. At first I did not get on it much but then I connected with friends and even family that I have not seen in years! Well shortly after joining I get from one of my friends this thing to fill out asking to list 25 things about me. I usually ignore all that stuff but I thought it would be a fun thing to do. Then I decided why not add it to my blog too? So here are 25 things you may or may not know about me.
1) I love to play Sims. No really, I play HARD. I can really sit there for hours. I like to make people that I am mad at and put them in a small rooms or pools with no way to get out to make them suffer.
2) I am addicted to chocolate
3) I love Kids in the Hall but I hate Monty Python. Weird but true.
4) I want to get more piercings, I think I have an addiction but I think I have reached the quota for work.
5) I am a horrible singer but you can tell when I am truly happy when I start to sing. Music keeps me sane.
6) Ever since I saw Point of No Return I have had a crush on Gabriel Byrne.
7) I do not like tomatoes
8) I am a little OCD
9) On my cousins 16 birthday we were grounded and part of our punishment was to cook dinner. As payback for making us cook on my cousins birthday we played soccer with the chicken and had a chicken fight where I hit her over the head with it, then we cooked it and fed it to the family. My cousin and I did not eat that day.
10) I am really not as nice as you think.
11) I want to own an Island
12) When I was in Greece my friends and I almost went to jail TWICE. :-(
13) My favorite color is Red
14) My Christmas tree is still up and it most likely will stay that way
15) My favorite author is Gabriel Garcia Marquez, he has a crazy imagination and he makes me feel not so crazy.
16) I usually have to watch Interview with a Vampire to help me fall asleep at night.
17) I have a shoe fetish
18) I cannot go anywhere with out my CrackBerry or Ipod. I get anxious with out them.
19) My favorite musician is Nina Simone
20) Jack Bower is my hero... he kicks major ass.
21) I love Alice in Wonderland... The story and the movie. I have always wanted to have a b.day party themed after the scene when she meets the Mad Hatter.
22) I hate being photographed. It makes me feel like one of Diane Arbus's subjects.
23) I wish I was in my early twenties in the 70s. Life would have been so much more interesting.
24) Audrey Hepburn is my fashion idol
25) When I hear the Pink Panther theme song I do not think of the cartoon/movie, I think of the Moulin Rouge in Amsterdam. Long graphic story, not suitable for kids. hahahahaha.... Fun Times.
Well, that is it! What are 25 things about you?
Until next time, Ciao!! xoxoxo
