Target stop messing with me....

I have been looking for an inexpensive pair of Cheetah pumps. I found a pair at Aldo's for $100 bucks but I wanted to spend a lot less than that. I looked in Ross since I found my animal print boots there but no such luck. So I looked on the Target website and I found these shoes:

Cute right? and for under $40 bucks I decided they were worth getting. Now on to my beef with Target. I bought these on the 4th and on the 5th they send me an email that it is on it's way to me. They also gave me a nice little tracking number that I can click on as many times as I want to check where they are. The problem? That as of today there is no info on the UPS site. They have not shipped them yet! What the hell are they waiting for? I want me shoes here so I can wear them!!!

ARGH!!! I have never ordered from the Target website and is looking like I wont be ordering from the site again. They are too slow at shipping and I am too impatient.

Cynthia Vincent for Target

I really wanted to like this collection. I mean, it is SHOES, cheap cute shoes. At least I thought it was going to be cute. But Cynthia Vincent's collaboration with Target was a complete bore.

I am really trying to understand these Target collaborations. Do the designers actually design these clothes, shoes, etc? I know that they are not going to use the best materials, but you would think that these collections would still show a footprint of who they are as a designer.

Here are some of Cynthia Vincent 2010 Spring and Summer shoes:

Have you checked out the latest Target collaboration? What do you think of it?

My Closet

A while back I posted about decorating my bedroom. I have not had the time and to be honest we have not even been sleeping in the bedroom. Why? Because it has been to darn hot! We have been sleeping on our blow up bed in the living room, with the patio door open in the hopes of getting a cross breeze.

Yes, yes, we are already in November and it should not be so hot. But it honestly feels like we are sitting in Hades.

But I have not forgotten and with us planning on moving in the very near future I have decided to start with organizing my closet.

This is the current state of my closet:

It does not look horribly bad but it can be so much better.

First order of business would be to take all the clothing that are currently too small and putting them in a storage bin. Like this one:Target storage box $49.99
Now you are thinking that I should be getting rid of the clothes, not hoarding these things. But with the fact that I am currently losing weight (update on my weight tomorrow), I think I should keep these clothes till I reach my goal weight.

I will be getting rid of clothing that is too big on me, since I will never, ever be wearing them again.

Next will be buying two of these:

Axis Imex 6-Shelf Sweater Organizer from Target $34.99

One will be for my sweaters and t-shirts. The second one will be for my jeans. Once each organizer unit is full, whatever is left over will be sent to the Salvation Army.

As for my shoes, I will be storing them in these shoe boxes:

Ikea Komplement shoe boxes: 4 for $9.99
These boxes are awesome! They have a clear window that lets you see what is inside. The same window that you can look into flips open so that you can take your shoes out without having to move any boxes around. I bought two packs of them and the area where I put them is the most organized area in my closet. I will be getting more.

I will also be getting new hangers. It would be nice to have them all in one color. I will also be using the top shelve of my closet that should be empty once I remove the sweaters and t-shirts and will use it to store the purses that are currently stored in a laundry basket on the floor.

So what do you think? Any ideas?

Gaultier is coming to a Target near you……. Maybe

The legend that is John Paul Gaultier is joining the growing line of designers that have done collections for Target.

With the exception of the Proenza collection for Target, all the collections so far have been a big disappointment for me. So to say that I am a little skeptical on how good this Target line will be is to be expected. I highly doubt that we will see his edgy design elements that have made him who he is.

But, let’s imagine for a moment that Gaultier designs won’t be dumbed down for the Target line, I would love to see versions of some of my favorite pieces hit the racks:

Spring 2010: I LOVE, LOVE, L O V E the first outfit.

Fall 2009: The new Little Black Dress.

Spring 2007: I know I am not a Saint. But I can dress like one.

Maybe even a Madonna, Blonde Ambition Tour corset with the cone boobies(yes, I said boobies):

Yes, yes, I would so wear it and then go hang with the Queens at Chaos. I would even sport the platinum ponytail just to make it that much more Madonnaish.

I know my wish is farfetched. But a girl can dream, right?

Look for the collection at Target Online, or possibly at a Target near you(the collection will only be at selected Target nationwide) on March 7, 2010.

More Collaborations

The Anna Sui for Target collection has come and gone. Actually, As of yesterday my local Target still had some of her pieces. But I wont even get into that, with the fact that there are still clothing left on the racks says enough about that collection.

The next Target collaboration is already in stores and that is Carlos Falchi for Target. For those that do not know who he is, he is a purse/bag designer. You can find some of his drool inducing bags at Saks. But if you are like me and do not have $2,000+ to drop on a bag, this collection with Target is your chance to own one of his bags.

I stopped by my local Target last night to see if I can check out the bags. I am especially eyeing this satchel:
But they did not have them out yet. I went on the website today and they state that it is now in stock. So I will see about stopping by tonight before heading home.

The next collaboration I am looking forward to is Jimmy Choo for H&M I am not going to even try and front, I am looking forward to this collection. I own a few Choo's and I LOVE them to pieces.

Of course we cannot forget the Rodarte for Target collection that will hit stores on December 20th as I mentioned here. I have seen some of the pictures of the collection and I am not sure how I feel about it yet. But I will keep an open mind till I see it for myself next month.

Here is one of the dresses:

What are your thoughts on all these collaborations? Any in particular you are looking forward to?

Target's up coming Designer Collaborations

What does Target, Laura Mulleavy and Kate Mulleavy have in common? Target Go International.

Yes, ladies and gents the sisters that make up the fashion label Rodarte will be teaming with Target to collaborate on a collection that is slated to drop in stores and online right in time for the Christmas Season. The collection will consist of 55 pieces, with prices ranging between $9.99 to $79.99.

I am trying to keep myself together and not go absolutely crazy with anticipation for the release of this collaboration, being that the Alexander McQueen collaboration with Target was a HUGE disappointment. I was so disappointed that I totally snoozed on the Tracy Feith collaboration.

I will not hold my breath thought I must admit I am a little excited. I think what will set the mood for me is when I see Anna Sui's collection when it hits Target on September 13th. Anna Sui's designs are to die for. Fun, girlie, a little sweet, a little bitter and even a little rock and roll. All my favorite design elements rolled into one. Can you tell I am a little excited for this too? I only hope I do not crash and burn again. *SIGH*

I leave you with some Rodarte and Anne Sui goodness.

Rodarte Fall RTW 2009:

Love it all! Can I please have one of each?

Anna Sui Fall RTW 2009:

Maybe if I wish for it hard enough I will find these pieces in my closet when I wake up in the morning?

Do you think the Target collaborations will be a hit or miss? Which one are you looking forward to?

By the way, the Rodarte collection for Target will hit stores and online on December 20th.

Ciao! xoxo

Ramblings and Other things

I finally feel human. I was able to crawl out of the bat cave and breath semi fresh air. I am excited that I was able to head out this weekend because the weather was perfect here in good old DC. It was not cold and the sun was tucked inside the clouds. If only it would always be this way. Yes, I am a vampire. The sun and I do not mix, which my family and friends find funny since I used to spend a lot of my summers in the Caribbean.

Anyway, the first place I wanted to go to was Tyson's Corner Mall to see what kind of trouble I can get myself into. When we arrived Mr. P and I went into Barnes and Noble to buy some refreshments and while I was standing in line look at what I saw:

After my post about those disastrous boots, I could not help but take out my camera and take a picture. I was going to say something to the poor girl about her fashion mishap but when she turned around and I took a better look at what she was wearing I decided that the girl needed more help then just a couple of minutes of wisdom so I decided to leave that alone.

After we had our refreshments we started strolling around the mall and we entered Kenneth Cole. I started squealing like a little girl when I noticed that they were having a 50% sale on their shoes. As I was looking at the shoes, I noticed these pair:

Which reminded me of this post “I Spy with my Shoe Eye”. In the post I said that I would have settled for the Aldo shoes at $110 but the Kenneth Cole shoes were $50; so guess which I settled for? Well, I thought I had a winner but after asking for help and a twenty-minute wait for the lady to come back, I learned that they did not have my size. I then had the clerk look at other stores and they also did not have my size. I figured it was just not meant to be. I will settle back for the Aldo shoes.

We then went to Bakers where I found a cute wool hat on sale for $10 from $22. Then we went to Sephora where I went to raid the Make-Up Forever section but others beat me to it, it was completely bare. I settled for a new eyebrow comb that I was in desperate need for and more Rosebud Slave, that I believe no one can ever have enough of. I also bought an Art Deco nail polish in white at some random accessory store.

On our way back to the car we passed by one of my favorite furniture stores that had a living room set that I had been drooling over but I was suffering from sticker shock and never purchased. Well, the store fell victim to the economy because they are having a going out of business sale. So of course I rushed in to see if my living room set was still there and to see what mark down it had, well, it was gone! All that was left was the chair. I am so sad. Lets have a moment of silence to the living room furniture that could have been mine:

That was the end of our Saturday adventure.

Today we headed out again and this time we went to Best Buy to look for a new digital camera for me and we were having no luck today with customer service. So we ended not getting me any new gadgets but I did come out with Gossip Girl Season One on sale for $20 from $70.

We then went to Target because I wanted to see the McQueen collection up close and personal. It was so sad. Not worth the price. The clothes are so cheaply made; I saw strands of thread coming from the seams. The material also felt stiff. So darlings if you want McQueen gear please just save your penny’s and buy the real thing because the Target stuff is a wreak of a collection. Here is one of the outfits:

Moving on to other things. Now that I am better I will be heading back to work tomorrow. I am really not looking forward to it but a girl has to do what a girl has to do. I will also go back to posting just once a day. Last week you guys got up to three posts a day from me since I was in bed with nothing else better to do.

I have also decided that I will not post anything else about Fashion week. Seriously, I have other things that I want to blog to you guys about. You can always go to Style or NYMag and get your fashion week fill there.

Well I have rambled enough, hmm? I better get myself off this computer and be productive around the apartment.

Until next time, Ciao!! Xoxo

McQueen for Target

If you did not know McQueen launched a limited time collection for Target. The collection has been available as of March first and will run till April 11th. I have not gone to Target yet to look at it up close and personal but from what I have seen on the Target site I am not completely sold on the designs. But I will let you all be the judge of that, here are some of the things you will find:

Alexanger McQueen for Target Tattoo Print Dress.

Alexander McQueen for Target Studded Denim Jacket

Alexander McQueen for Target Jumpsuit

So what do you all think? I will take a closer look at the clothes when I drag myself over to Target once I feel more human. I will even take picture's of what I find. In the mean time go on to the Target website and check out the rest of the collection.

Until next time, Ciao! xoxo
