What are you reading?

1) Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk: After my post about this book here. I went out to B&N a few days later and bought it. This is a great freaking book. If you saw and liked the movie, you will love this book.

2) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith: I love Jane Austen. I have her whole collection of books. I was very skeptical of this books but the word "Zombie" kept on calling my name. Finally on one of our many book store runs I read the first few chapters and I was hooked. I really do think that almost anything with Zombies in it will be a fun read. I bought the prequel a few days ago and cannot wait to dig in to it.

3) Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller: This is one of my top five favorite books. It is in my opinion Henry Miller's best work. It was banned as obscene in the US for almost 30 years and It spawned a trail that would change the future of banded books in America. I was given this book as a gift by my aunt when I was a teen. I read that book so many times that the pages started falling apart. My younger brother remembering that I loved the book bought me another copy for Christmas a couple of year ago.

What are you reading?

Fight Club

After having lunch with one of my friends today, I went off to Barnes and Noble to have a coffee and grabbed Fight Club to read while I had my drink.

I love the movie and I love the book even more. After finishing my coffee I left without the book. Now I find myself thinking about it and wish I would have bought it. I might have to take another trip to Barnes and Noble again sometime this week.

Have you ever read the book? Did you like it? How about the movie?

Ciao! xoxo

Christmas Wish list

I am sorry that I have been MIA. But work has been pretty busy with the end of year, planning building holiday party and Christmas decorations that when I get home all I do is vegetate. It also does not help the Best Buy is still holding my camera hostage.

I have not been really feeling in the Holiday mood. It has come up way too fast and the fact that they started playing Christmas music and putting out Christmas stuff in September, has left me a little over it all. But we have put up put up our Christmas tree (I will take a picture of it tomorrow after I get my camera back) and everyday that I turn it on I get that wonderful feeling inside.

I will be doing my Christmas shopping next weekend. This year I will not be buying lots of gifts which my wallet is happy about. I also have a wish list. When I lived at home it was something that was required to have updated at all times. Why? Because my family does not make too much of a fuss about such things. They rather just know what you want and when a birthday or Christmas comes around you get something from your list. Now, I mostly keep for myself so that I can remember where I saw what I want when I am ready to buy it.

Here are some of the things that are on my wish list:

Cupcake Teapot $15.95

2009 Threads Magazine Archive DVD-ROM $149.95

Easy Guide to Sewing Linings $66.50 used I have always sucked at jacket linings. That is my weakness when it comes to sewing. I have read in one of the blogs that this is a very good one. It is now out of print so the price for the book is a little ridiculous. You do not even want to know how much it costs new.

Helmut Newton Work $34.19. I love Helmut Newton's work. He is amazing. Not only will this book be a great book to have, I think Mr. P will also enjoy this book since he is a photographer too.

I want, I want, I want these shoes. I spoke about them here.

Those are some of the things on my wish list. I also want an e-reader but I think I want to wait if Apple comes out with one before I make a final decision on one. I also want gift cards to MAC Cosmetics, Sephora, Aldo Shoes and Barnes and Noble.

What are some of the things on Christmas Wish List?

What are you reading?

These are the books that I am currently reading:

From top to bottom:

1) Secrets of a Shoe Addict by Beth Harbison (This book is mindless fun. Thought I give it a shot since I am a shoe addict)
2) The Great Shark Hunt by Hunter S.Thompson (LOVE, LOVE Hunter Thompson. If you have not read any of his books I highly recommend that you do, right away!)
3) Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind (Yes, I am a geek. I blame Mr. P)
4) Gabriel Garcia Marquez A Life by Gerald Martin (Biography on my favorite author of all time)

I rotate usually between 3 to 4 books every month. What I decide to read on any given day is depending on what mood I am in when I sit down to reading.

So darlings, What are you reading?

Ciao! xoxo
