Penpals

via

I have joined a couple of penpal networks in the hopes of meeting new people from around the world. I also feel that with this technology driven world, the handwritten letter is dying.

I think we have all gotten so spoiled by technology and our busy lives that we have forgotten how special it is to receive a handwritten letter from a friend. Once upon a time, I used to love opening my mailbox, but in the last few years it feels like a chore, since all we get is bills and junk mail.

I do not want my trip to the mailbox to feel like a chore anymore. I want to get excited each time that I go to my mailbox in the hopes of finding a letter from a new friend. It is a great feeling knowing that someone took time out of their life to send me a letter, even if it is to say hello.

Do not get me wrong, I love to hear from everyone, no matter how they choose to communicate with me. But I want to also be able to write to someone and share with them a hand written note, that adds a something little more personal then what an email or text can offer.

How do you all feel about Penpals?

Ciao! xoxo

I love 'snail mail'. An email just can't compare to checking the mailbox everyday to finally find a letter. It is definitely becoming a lost art though. Not to mention the decline of penmanship...

When I was younger I used to have a japanese penpal - and we would send each other things from our own culture, and lollies, and put stickers over our letters :) she got to practise her English, and I my japanese, It is nice to receieve a personalised letter, and buying special writing paper for it. Now, I'm not sure if I could do the same
