Ramblings and an Award

I am going on week two of not posting a nail of the week. But last week I wanted to give my nails a break because the acetone was doing a number on them and this week I am sick and cannot stand the smell of nail polish. Hopefully I will feel better by next week and I will have manicured hands again.

A few weeks ago I found a book at Urban Outfitters that shows you how to make Macarons. Being the cheap-o that I am I went to B&N to see if they had it there first so that I can use my discount. As luck would have it they had one left so I picked it up. It is called I Love Macarons by Hisako Ogita. I really love Macarons and had not had a decent one since I was in France many moons ago. I found a place in the DC area that sells them but 1) the place is a little far and 2) they are not that great to take the trip out there. So I am going to try and make them myself. I know it is not an easy task to make these little delights. But I am up for the challenge.

The Cherry Blossoms are starting to bloom here in DC. This weekend Mr. P and I will be making the trip to DC and enjoy the pretty trees. Thankfully this weekend is going to be gorgeous, I just hope I feel better by then.

I have not been able to make the trip to NYC to see the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA. Every time we make the plans something comes up. Luckily the exhibit is open through the 26th of April so it still gives us plenty of time.

I was recently awarded the:
award by the lovely Miss Lillian.

The rules:
- Post the award on your blog
- Link the person who has given you the award
- Pass the award to 15 other blogs you’ve discovered
- Remember to contact the bloggers you’ve nominated

Wow, that was a lot of typing! Anyway, Thanks Lillian, I love your blog too. You should all stop by here. She has really gotten my curious to try out Illamasqua cosmetics after her week long reviews on different products from the brand.

So what have you all been up to?

Ciao! xoxo

Thanks for accepting my award and linking to me :)
That book looks so sweet! It's odd though, we call them 'macaroons' in the UK!
