I am back...

From my little hiatus feeling completely miserable because I am sick as a dog. I have been feeling this way since Friday morning and I feel like jumping off a bridge to take myself out of my misery. I mean, It was a long holiday weekend for gods sake! I was supposed to be out having fun not at home with a sore throat, stuffed up nose and feeling like a two ton truck just ran me over!

Alas, life must go on. I will take this time to recap on what I have been up to....

As you can see here my trip to NYC was a success. I had a lot of fun and as usual it was hard for me to say goodbye.

I decided since I cannot be out and about enjoying the long weekend doing fun things. I would bring the fun and sunshine to me with a fun and bright manicure.

Also, while I sat in solitary confinement, on my couch, away from Mr. P as to not get him sick too. I got cracking with some over due crafting and made these:

Meet Erika, My hair model. LOL

As usual, these are only previews. The better looking photos will be posted on my accessory blog. I will let you all know when they are up.

I also have some new jewelry pieces but those will be on another post.

There are a bunch of other things that I want to blog about. I did not forget about my bedroom make over but with house guests, road trips, getting sick and other life things that has been put on the back burner for just a little while. I will be getting back to that very shortly!

So much to do, so little time.

What have you guys been up to? I have a lot of blog reading to catch up on!

Ciao! xoxo

New York, New York

Last weekend I went home for the day to hang out and just get out of DC for the day. Since Mr. P or Ms. J could not take the trip with me, one of my other friends came with me on my adventure.

We spent the day walking around the city and just acting like tourist. It was a great time and cannot wait to do it again. I even got to go to one of my favorite museums The Guggenheim.

Here are some pictures from my trip:

I took a picture of this ugly toy because it reminded me of something. I will give you a clue, I named him Mr. Blue Balls. hahahaha..... I am really five years old and a pervert. I did not know that they made toys like this for kids. Geeez.

Slow Week

I have been slow with the posts this week because I have a house guest that was supposed to be here for a 3 day visit but has extended itself for two weeks (I am sure everyone knows those type of guests). The chi in our apartment has kinda shifted. Does not feel like home right now and therefore has put me in one of those moods where I do not want to do anything. You know what I mean?

But on a happier note, I will be going home this weekend. It is only a day trip but a day trip is better then nothing. By the time I get back, our house guest will be gone and all will go back to normal.

So my dear street vendors, yummy pizza, crazy people, and stinky subways, I am coming home!! woooo hooo....

I wish you all a great weekend and I will return back to my normal blogging self on Monday!

Garden Botanika Slip Gloss

I got My Pretty Pink Box a couple of days ago. The main reason why I ordered it is because I wanted to try out the Shadow Shields that were going to come with the box. Also, I wanted to get one for Mommy Dearest as part of her mother's day gift.

Little did I know that I was going to fall in love with a lip gloss that came along with the box. Actually, I think love is not a strong enough word to describe how I feel about this little tube.

I am the lip gloss queen. Seriously, I have tried, owned or still own a ridiculous amount of glosses (the glosses you saw here is only the tip of the ice burg) I will not even tell you how many I have because it truly is ridiculous.

Why, you might ask I own so many? Is because I am always looking for the perfect gloss. The one that will give me the right amount of gloss with out looking like I ate a bucket of greasy chicken, or attract every strand of my hair, real or other wise, one that is not so thick that it feels I am wearing a second skin, one that does not start to make my lips flake as it starts wearing out or taste like Vaseline when I lick my lips.

Well ladies, I have found the holy grail of lip glosses or I should say, My Pretty Pink Box found the holy grail of lip glosses and mailed it to me. What is this lip gloss you ask?

Is the Garden Botanika Slip Gloss.
The one that came in the box is Cranapple Slip gloss. It applies light, no tacky greasy mess on the lips. It does not have a taste and it is so light weight it feels as if you have applied nothing to your lips. It has high shine, long lasting and even makes my lips look plumper.

I went on the website and all their slip glosses are on sale for $9.00. So that made the glosses even more attractive.

The down side to the glosses? They only have seven colors to choose from. That is something I can live with. I am loving the Cranapple color so I know I will be getting another one.

This one gets a rating of 5/5.

I cannot wait till next months box to see what other goodies will come. :-)

Nail of The Week: Shower Together

Nail Polish Brand: China Glaze
Color: Shower Together (2 Coats)

Base: Orly Bonder
Top Coat: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Sorry for the messy looking polish. The picture was taken before I did the clean up.

This color is pretty cool. But I think I will leave this color for the fall, it does not scream spring or summer to me. This polish is so thick that I could have gotten away with one coat but I was not satisfied with the color turn out. So I went ahead and applied a second coat just too see how dark the color got. I must say I like it much better but not one of my favorite polishes.

What do you all think?

Nail Art Diva

I was surfing around the net looking for cheap nail art supplies and I ran into this little puppy:
Has anyone tried it?

It is supposed to make it easier to apply "Konad" type nail designs. I am really curious about this little contraption.

Below is the information directly from the site:

"Break into the exciting world of custom nail art design with the Nail Art Diva!Diva Basics SmartStart Nail Art Kit, a complete nail art design system unlike anything you have ever experienced.
You will get The Nail Art Diva!, a patented nail art printing device specially made to easily apply any of the included 29 unique re-usable nail art designs to any of the six vivid nail art polish colors that you will find inside this kit.
Our nail art polish dries in seconds and is specially formulated to work with the nail art designs for quick bonding. Create hundreds of new nail art looks in minutes. It is easy to change your manicure style whenever you want! Project fresh innocence with Morning White and Soft Peach paired with a softer nail art decal graphic. Add vitality to a bolder nail art graphic with Passion Pink, Deep Strawberry or Passion Plum or go dark with Basic Black! In this kit, we have also included a bottle of Top Coat. The CE mark on the bottle lets you know that the polish has been tested and approved safe by European standards.
The Nail Art Diva! Diva Basics SmartStart Nail Art Kit comes with a SmartStart Basic nail art polish holder to help you keep everything organized by holding up to ten Nail Art Diva! nail art polishes (more colors are available separately). As you expand your collection of nail art designs, you can purchase the nail art polish holder expander(sold separately). The expander easily snaps to your basic nail art holder so you can increase your storage in the combined holder and expander from 10 nail art polishes and a top coat to 28 nail art polishes and top coat.
"

It costs $59.99 on the Nail Diva site, and on the Ulta site it costs $39.99.

I think I am going to wait till I get enough points on my Ulta card so I can get it as cheap as possible because I know that if I do not like it, I will be upset that I paid so much for it.

Has anyone tried it? If you have, is it worth buying it? What do you think?

Summer Sandals

It feels weird looking at summer sandals when it has been raining in DC since Saturday. I am not complaining, I prefer the rain over winter anytime.

Anyway, I got on Free People to see what they had going on in the sandals department and these are by far my favorites:
Link Cross Sandal $44

Garland Sandal $88.00

Flash Sandal $178.00

I like all three but the first sandals for $44 are at the top of my wish list since they are the cheapest. Lets see if I can find something just as nice at a lower price. Who knows, it may make it to my Eye Spy Thursday.

So what do you think?

The WTF Item of the week.

So I am getting my daily dose of blog reading before I start to do any real work and I see that Liberty London Girl blogged about the 2009 Costume Institute Gala Benefit. After reading her post, I headed on over to WWD to see the rest of what the stars wore and I must say my eyes burned a little. While there were some that looked great, like Carolina Herrera:

Most looked like they got dressed in the dark or I should say their stylist dressed them in the dark. For example: Really? WTF is that supposed to be?

I am not going to even bother posting more picture's. I do not want you all to go blind. But if you really want to see the vomit inducing fashion go here.

Ciao! xoxo

Gavin Rossdale Concert Pictures

Had Enough?? Well, I give you one more. hehehehe....... I was trying to be artistic with that picture.

Last but not least, what I was able to record before I got stopped by security.

Me at the concert, trying to wait patiently for Gavin to come on:
You cannot see it very well in the picture, but I am wearing a t-shirt designed by Christian Siriano from Project Runway. He created these t-shirts for HRC (Human Rights Campaign). The proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts go towards helping HRC on their quest to bring equality to the gays, lesbians, bisexual, and transgender Americans. They were selling this t-shirt and a bunch other fabulous t-shirts at the fashion event that was held in the building I work at a few months ago.

Well, that is it. Enjoy!

Can I have me some of him?

Last night was the Gavin Rossdale concert. Just typing his name gives me heart palpitations, imagine how I was last night? I was standing so close to him, I saw every drop of sweat as it went down his face, neck and traveled to the unknown.

Ok, I will stop, this is starting to sound like a bad porno. hahahaha....

He sang a bunch of songs from his solo album and he also treated the audience to some of his Bush songs. He of course sounded AMAZING. I was not feeling the band all that much. I do not know if I am just biased because I LOVED the guys from Bush. But, none of that matters, I went to the show to see Gavin and Gavin I got. :-)

By the way, can you believe that even though the place was filled with women, the guys that were at the concert were bigger fan boys then the girls? HAHAHAHA.... I almost busted a gut laughing when this one guy pushed his girlfriend to the side so that he can touch Gavin when he came to sing close to our section. HAHAHAHAHA..... She was so upset. I know he was getting an ear full from her on the way home.

I have sooooooooooooooo many picture's. I will post the better picture's tonight when I get home. I also have a short clip of one of his performances. I was trying to record one full song but security at the 9:30 club was not having that and I was not pushing my luck.

Next concert: No Doubt at the Nissan Pavilion on Sunday, June 14th.

How was your weekend?

Picture's and Video from the Blue October Concert

So tonight is the Gavin Rossdale concert and I am super excited. I finally downloaded the picture's and video from the Blue October concert so I thought I post them now. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture's but I was pretty far back from the stage and it was pretty dark.

Justin looks like a demon in this picture, hehehe:

Nail of the Week: Hey! Get in Lime!

Nail Polish Brand: OPI
Color: Hey! Get in Lime! 3 coats

Base: Orly Bonder
Top Coat: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I totally missed out on MAC's Peppermint Patti nail polish from the Sugar Sweet collection. But I have OPI's Hey! Get in Lime! which I think is a very close duplicate. I also have Orly's Mint Mojito but in my opinion this OPI nail polish is closer in color to Peppermint Patti.

Want a picture to compare the two? Go to Nail Juice's blog and check out her swatch of the Peppermint Patti nail polish.

What do you think?

Here's to Happiness

I got this idea from the Rockstar Diaries and decided to do my little list of things that make me happy.

1) Fall in DC : Took the picture above a few years ago while Mr. P and I were wandering the streets of Dupont Circle on a beautiful fall day.
2) Sitting in bed with the covers up to my chin reading a book on a rainy day.
3) Driving nowhere with the top down on a clear night.
4) Singing at the top of my lungs pretending to be a rockstar.
5) Walking around museums and making up my own stories behind the paintings.
6) Sitting at an outdoor cafe people watching while having a cup of coffee.
7) Chocolate. Any type of Chocolate.
8) Paris at night. *Sigh* I need to go back soon. I love that City.
9) Central Park, NYC
10) Old Cars

What makes you happy?
