Recovering

So I went to Foxy and Fabulous Friday fashion event done by the Crystal City Bid and it was so much fun! I saw some fantastic designers that are local to DC and they have officially made me a fan. I even got a fabulous bag from one of them. I will blog about the event in more detail later because right now I have to continue recovering so that I can get myself ready to head out and enjoy the last day of Crystal Couture.

25 Things About Me.....

I fought off the world that is Facebook for a while but the powers that be had other plans for me and I got dragged into it. At first I did not get on it much but then I connected with friends and even family that I have not seen in years! Well shortly after joining I get from one of my friends this thing to fill out asking to list 25 things about me. I usually ignore all that stuff but I thought it would be a fun thing to do. Then I decided why not add it to my blog too? So here are 25 things you may or may not know about me.

1) I love to play Sims. No really, I play HARD. I can really sit there for hours. I like to make people that I am mad at and put them in a small rooms or pools with no way to get out to make them suffer.

2) I am addicted to chocolate

3) I love Kids in the Hall but I hate Monty Python. Weird but true.

4) I want to get more piercings, I think I have an addiction but I think I have reached the quota for work.

5) I am a horrible singer but you can tell when I am truly happy when I start to sing. Music keeps me sane.

6) Ever since I saw Point of No Return I have had a crush on Gabriel Byrne.

7) I do not like tomatoes

8) I am a little OCD

9) On my cousins 16 birthday we were grounded and part of our punishment was to cook dinner. As payback for making us cook on my cousins birthday we played soccer with the chicken and had a chicken fight where I hit her over the head with it, then we cooked it and fed it to the family. My cousin and I did not eat that day.

10) I am really not as nice as you think.

11) I want to own an Island

12) When I was in Greece my friends and I almost went to jail TWICE. :-(

13) My favorite color is Red

14) My Christmas tree is still up and it most likely will stay that way

15) My favorite author is Gabriel Garcia Marquez, he has a crazy imagination and he makes me feel not so crazy.

16) I usually have to watch Interview with a Vampire to help me fall asleep at night.

17) I have a shoe fetish

18) I cannot go anywhere with out my CrackBerry or Ipod. I get anxious with out them.

19) My favorite musician is Nina Simone

20) Jack Bower is my hero... he kicks major ass.

21) I love Alice in Wonderland... The story and the movie. I have always wanted to have a b.day party themed after the scene when she meets the Mad Hatter.

22) I hate being photographed. It makes me feel like one of Diane Arbus's subjects.

23) I wish I was in my early twenties in the 70s. Life would have been so much more interesting.

24) Audrey Hepburn is my fashion idol

25) When I hear the Pink Panther theme song I do not think of the cartoon/movie, I think of the Moulin Rouge in Amsterdam. Long graphic story, not suitable for kids. hahahahaha.... Fun Times.

Well, that is it! What are 25 things about you?

Until next time, Ciao!! xoxoxo

I really tried. Honestly I did but I just could not help it

I did not want to talk about any of this stuff on my blog but this was emailed to me and I needed to put it some where. I just needed to do something. I tried. I actually just spent an hour looking at the article after reading it trying to decide if I did want to post it our not. I am not even going to say anything just that I am numb, not out of shock because I am not surprised but because I do not have enough feelings in me to describe how much this pisses me off.

So my dears, read and behold an example of what banks are doing with their bail out money. While our stocks continue to plummet, people are losing their jobs, homes, savings and our countries economical system continues to crumble.

Bailed Out Bank Parties With Sheryl Crow

Now that I have gotten that off my chest you will never see me blog about this again. I would love to hear what you think.

Metro Male Monday and T-Shirt Tuesday

So this week continues Crystal Couture done by the Crystal Bid.

Last night was Metro Male Monday. I did not get to stay there very long due to the fact that I was starving and I was exhausted from a full day of work. I did get to check out the vendors that were there that night and I got to try some great Scotch served by a man wearing an awesome Kilt. Have I ever told you guys I love a man in a Kilt? YUM!

The first designer showing their wears was Siddih. Their designs incorporated the peace sign on all their shirts. You can see some of the shirts from the show on the slide below. As usual my picture's are not that great but once the SO has his pictures uploaded sometime this weekend I will put up a slide with all the picture's from the shows we attended.

Tonight was T-shirt night, hosted by Art Whino, again I did not get to stay for the whole thing because I had to take the SO to the airport. I am not one to wear T-shirt's out unless I am slumming it but after the T-shirts tonight I may have one or two rotating in my wardrobe. Iky Clothing, JMC/Dekka where the two designers I saw tonight night. Check out there sites there wears are pretty cool. I even wore my HRC t-shirt that was designed by Christian that I spoke about on Monday. I do not have a picture of it yet but I will have that up on the end of week slide.

Enjoy the Show!

Until next time, Ciao!!

Drag Queen Brunch and Fashion Show

There is a two week fashion event being hosted by the Crystal City Bid in a building that the company I work for owns in Crystal City, VA and Sunday's theme was a Drag Queen Brunch. It was a BLAST! The ladies were great, the music was awesome and they had a lot of cool local vendors. I bought a T-shirt designed by Christian Siriano from Project Runway from HRC.

HRC is The Human Rights Campaign. They are a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization. To learn more about them and their cause please visit their website at http://www.hrc.org. The T-shirt that I bought the proceeds go to helping them achieve their goals. I will post a picture of me wearing the T-shirt in a few days when I go to the next Crystal City Bid event.

The picture's below are the ones that I took which the quality is not that great but do not worry the SO took way better photos and when they are ready I will post them for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!!

The fabulous ladies:

The awesome DJ, she had me singing and shaking my butt up and down the place.

As an added bonus here is a video of some of the performances. I am only sad that I did not think of recording the other performances earlier. Enjoy!

Coraline 3D

I had a great weekend. I went on Friday to see Coraline 3D and I must say I loved the movie. They did a great job translating the book into film. There was not a lot of 3D effects but what they did have was awesome. I already cannot wait till it comes out on DVD. I believe this is the last week that it will be playing in 3D so if you have not seen it and want to check it out go now! Now on to pictures from that night. Enjoy!

Hello Kitty Nails

I know it has been a while since I blogged but I am working on another blog that will be up soon. I will still keep this one for my regular rambling sessions but the other one will be to showcase some of my work. Once it is ready I will update this one and let you all know my new blogging home. Now that we have that out of the way, on to some fun stuff.

The Hello Kitty collection for MAC Cosmetics is out and of course I had to run out to the store and check it out. So with the boyfriend in hand we headed to the M.A.C store at Pentagon City, tracked down my favorite make-up artist Christian and started testing out the products. I must say after looking at everything I was not as excited with the collection as I thought I would be. I adored the nail polishes and I really liked the Too Dolly eyeshadow palette so that is all I got. Which at the end of the day it is a great thing because then that means more money for other collections.

Anyway, as soon as I got home with the help of the darling boyfriend we set to work on doing my nails. I must say I was really happy with the out come (thanks babe!!) and I look forward to trying other combinations with the polishes.

I would love to hear what you all thought of this collection. Was it all you hoped for? or did it leave you wanting more?

Look out for my next post about my new blog. Till next time....

Ciao!! xoxoxo
