Madonna is Hard Candy

Ladies and Gents the queen is coming out with her 11th studio album set to release on April 29th, 2008. I am as excited as a school girl after being asked to the prom by the school hunk. Yes, I am that excited. I love me some Madonna and I am ready for the new album.

Her last album was Confessions on a Dance Floor that was released in November 15, 2005. In my opinion it was a great CD and I still listen to it almost everyday. I even went to the concert in Philadelphia, but I need me some new Madonna!!

While Confessions threw us back to the disco era and reminded us of Saturday Night Fever, Madonna has once again changed gears and this new album has more of an urban/hip hop feel. Mind you she has not left her dance roots behind; there is enough to dance to in this album. With collaborations with Kanye West, Pharell, Justin Timberlake, Timberland, Danja Hills for those of you that do not know who Danja is, he is Timberlands protégé, he was one of the producers on Promiscuous, Sexy Back, Say it Right, and other songs. So you know they will keep your ass moving.

I just love her. She never disappoints she is one of the greatest entertainers of all time. The woman is never afraid at trying something new and when they try to push her down she always comes back stronger and pushes harder. She is beautiful; I can only hope to look so good when I am 49. Actually, I completely believe she looks better then me, puts me to shame. Every time I see pictures of her it just makes me want to get in shape and now seeing this album cover really makes me want to cry.

So stay tuned ladies and gents. The queen will be arriving shortly. Now for your enjoyment here is the first single of her album that I got off you tube:

April issue of Vogue Magazine

A couple of days ago I received my April issue of Vogue; I looked at the cover, flipped through it really fast and put it on my nightstand. You see I do not read my magazines right away. I pill them on my night stand and Sunday mornings with a cup of coffee I sit up in bed and read all of them cover to cover. That is my Sunday morning ritual.

On the cover of this month’s Vogue they have LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen. I did not care that he was on the cover because I did not know who he was, I just figured he was an athlete and of course I knew who Gisele was, I do think she is pretty but she does not really do anything for me. What did come to mind was “Man, I may be wrong but this is the first time Vogue has a black man on their cover. How cool is that?!?!” Then my next thought was that the picture was cute and funny. Well, today while I am having breakfast I log on to yahoo to read up on some news/gossip and I see this article: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-voguecover&prov=ap&type=lgns so instantly I am like “What now?” As I read the article I start to get upset. Leave it to the media to read too much into something and start to put things into people’s head. Right away they think that it has to do with race. People, WAKE THE FUCK UP!! Not everything is about white and black, not everything is about putting the black man down. Can we please MOVE ON?! Can you stop living in this bubble that everyone is out to get you because you are black and see that no one GIVES A SHIT! You are so self absorbed in your pathetic little life that you start screaming racism about every little thing. I am sick and tired of it.

I love how at the end of the article it says and I quote “If more people of color worked for Vogue in positions of editorial authority, perhaps someone in the room might have been able to read the image the way so many of us are reading it now, and had the power to do something about it.” No darling the majority of the people do not think as you do. You and the rest of the cry babies that want some attention and have the connections to get yourself published are the people that are reacting this way, and what the hell is a magazine analyst?? Is this one of the many made up professions that have popped up in recent years for people that failed at whatever they wanted to be in life?

When are we going to grow up? When are we going to be ok to see a black man and a white woman together or vise versa and not play the racial card? Please tell me what do you want me to do so that you can stop this insanity? I will do everything in my power to lobby for you to get what you want so that you can stop crying racism every time you see something that you do not like. Can we please move on? Can you please worry about the children that are being killed by asshole father’s because the kid broke his xbox? (see this story for further details: http://www.nbc10.com/news/9824251/detail.html ) Instead of what a fashion magazine publishes on the cover? Can we worry about the men and women that are dying everyday overseas fighting a stupid war that we should not have even started? Can you please use your connections to make a positive difference in this world? There are a lot more important things going on everyday that we should be worrying about, then a stupid magazine cover and reading more into it then what was intended to begin with. Actually you should have been celebrating that finally a magazine that is ran by mostly white people is putting a black man on its cover when it had never in it’s years of being around done such a thing. You should be proud that this person has so much influence that it can break through and be a beautiful, black man on the cover of a predominantly white magazine.

So fuck off and go do something useful with your life and stop crying like a child. Your cries are getting old and we are getting tired.

12 tips to maintaining healthy hair

A lot of my friends are always asking me for tips on how I maintain my hair so nice. Especially with the fact that I am forever dying it and I love to wear wigs and hair pieces. So I decided to post a blog on a few tips to help you maintain your hair because we can all have FABULOUS hair!

1) Don't use too much shampoo at one time. Put a quarter size amount in your palm, rub with your hands and make a lather, then begin to lather it in your hair.

2) Make sure you get your hair thoroughly wet before applying shampoo.

3) When you are shampooing, make sure you gently rub your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) to clean it. Using your fingertips will massage your scalp and help with blood flow, using your nails even though it might feel good will only irritate the scalp, can cause skin and folicule breakage.

4) You should always brush your hair before shampooing to remove tangles. Always start from the bottom up to avoid hair breakage when untangling hair.

5) Always use a conditioner. There is a conditioner out there for EVERY type of hair. Never skip this step. You need to use a conditioner to put back into your hair what shampoo took away also to bring back balance to the hair that water took away.

6) Always use a wide tooth comb to comb out wet hair. Try to use a detangler when you comb out your hair after washing.

7) You should never wrap your hair in a towel after shampooing. It will draw too much moisture out of your hair and make it tangled and frizzy. Instead, rinse your hair thoroughly after shampooing/conditioning; squeeze the excess water from your hair. Using your hand, or shaking your head, loosen your hair up a little, and by starting at the bottom of your hair, brush with a WIDE TOOTH COMB. Never brush wet hair with a brush – always use a wide tooth comb. Hair is at it's most fragile state when is wet and it will not only cause breakage it will cause it to frizz.

8) After combing your hair spray a light leave in conditioner.

9) Try to limit how much you wash your hair. I wash my hair 1 to 2 times a week.

10) Do a deep conditioner on your hair. If you have normal, healthy hair that has not been mistreated by color, relaxers, etc you should do a deep conditioning at least once a month. For hair that is in good condition but has had some work to it you should do a deep conditioner at least once every other week and if you have damaged, chemically altered hair and mistreated you should at least do a deep conditioner once a week. There are a number of deep conditioners in your local beauty supply.

11) When drying your hair try not to put too much direct heat ALL the time on your hair such as blow dryers. Try giving your hair a break and do a roller set. Never leave your hair completely wet or put your hair up in a ponytail with your hair wet all the time it can and will eventually create mold in your scalp and trust me it is GROSS and something you do not want to deal with. I have ran into a lot of heads with mold in them because of this. Also your hair will stink like mildew. You can use a diffuser on your blow dryer in low to medium setting to dry your hair and it will be very easy on it. ALWAYS use a heat protecting hair product on your hair. Never dry your hair with out it. It will only dry out your hair, take away its shine and make it frizzy.

12) Get your hair trimmed about every 6 weeks. Helps the hair stay/look healthy and grow better.

I hope this advice helps you all to have fabulous hair all the time.If you have any questions, would like product suggestions for your type hair or your own hair tip that you would like to add feel free to post a comment or send me a message.

WOW..

So I noticed that I have not posted anything in over a month. Life has been nuts. Work is driving me up a wall, school is slowly killing me and now I am getting ready to move back to NYC (about the only thing that has kept me going). I finish school in three weeks so that should free up some of my time to do other things such as blog :-) so stay tunned, I will be back.

12 Things I LOVE

Every girl has things that they cannot live without. It could be a pet, make-up, a purse, bag, anything. Today while I was bored at work I decided to write my own list. So in no particular order, since when I tried to list them by importance I noticed that they all fall as my number 1 must have. LOL.

1) M.A.C's Plush Lash Mascara: My lashes have never looked so full and long till I started using this stuff. It is FABULOUS!
2) Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm: I LOVE, LOVE this stuff. I normally hate minty stuff but once I put this on my lips it makes them feel so good I just want to keep applying more and more till there is no more. Is like a little piece of heaven applied to your lips, especially in the winter when they are chapped and dry from the cold.
3) Hello Kitty Warhol bag: I love this bag. It holds all my junk and it is cute and stylish.
4) Ipod: I am a music junkie. I have over 7 thousand songs and counting.
5) Russian Red M.A.C lipstick: I love the color red and I adore this color.
6) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencils: Yes, I am a MAC girl. I love there stuff but these pencils by Urban Decay are the best. They glide on smoothly and once you put them on it stays on all day and looking fresh too.
7) Adiddas Superstar sneakers: Not only are they stylish and totally describes me they are mad comfy and look great with everything even a dress!!
8) T-mobile Slide: I do not really like to talk on the phone much but man I can text all day. LOL
9) Canon Powershot camera: I do not leave home with out my camera. It is small and fits easily in my pocket or purse. You never know when you will need a camera.
10) My laptop: How else am I going to blog?
11) My Silver hoops: I feel naked with out them.
12) Cosmedicine Honest Face Skin Tint & Treatment: Not only is it tinted, it is a light weight moisturizer and protects my skin from the sun. I love products that do more then one thing, less for me to carry! If that is not enough reason for you then note that this moisturizer only contains 3 ingredients and they are all good for your skin.

Well, that is it. My top twelve can't live with out things. What stuff can't you live with out?
